Sarawak Energy Scholarship Programme 2024

Sarawak Energy Scholarship is offered to all Sarawakian students who excel academically and demonstrates leadership in extracurricular activities.

Sarawak Energy aims to attract top Sarawakian talents to help them realise their vision of achieving sustainable growth and prosperity for Sarawak and its people by meeting the region’s need for reliable and renewable energy.

The scholarship is opened to students pursuing/intending to pursue selected courses in preferred universities. You may use your SPM/STPM trial results to apply.

Eligibility Criteria:

Pre-U (Foundation or A-Levels)

• 21 years old or below at the time of application;
• Minimum 8As in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) (Trial SPM results accepted for students taking SPM in 2024).

Undergraduate Programme

• 24 years old or below at the time of application;
• Minimum 8As in SPM or 3.30 CGPA in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)/Matriculation/Foundation/Diploma.

• Not a recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid;
• Strong leadership qualities, excellent team player, excels in both extra-curricular activities and sports;
• No family member is currently a Sarawak Energy Scholarship recipient.

Study Courses

Electrical Engineering (*)(**)
Civil Engineering ** / Mechanical Engineering**
ICT (Software Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems)
Accounting / Finance / Commerce
Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical, Clinical Psychology, Food Technology, Fine Arts, Aeronautics, and other related studies are not covered.

*Students intending to pursue these courses are highly encouraged to apply.
**Programme must be accredited/recognised by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) Malaysia, available here www.eac.org.my.

Postgraduate:

• 30 years old or below during the time of application;
• Minimum 3.30 CGPA in Undergraduate Degree and/or Master’s Degree;
• Full-time studies only;
• Not under any employment;
• Not a recipient of any other scholarship or financial aid;
• Strong leadership qualities, excellent team-player, excels in both extra-curricular activities and sport;
• No family member is currently a Sarawak Energy Scholarship recipient.

Master’s Degree (Coursework Only): Electrical Engineering / Accounting /Finance
PhD: Research paper must be related with Sarawak Energy‘s Core Business (the research proposal must be ready during scholarship application).
